HAPPILY EVER AFTER

I have had weddings, engagements and love on the brain lately so I have been sketching brides and grooms alot in the last few weeks.

I have alot more so when I get them scanned I will post them. I have enough for a wedding line I think the way I have been doodling!

NEW BLOG BANNER

A little birdie told me that it was time for me to design a proper banner for my blog here!

I designed this one but I'm sure I will be wanting to change it from time to time, which I think is a good thing.

I have been working on a winter banner with "Holly" the Christmas Friendship Fairy shown here.

ARTIST PRAYER

As I was working (playing) in my sketchbook this morning, I started writing this little prayer of thanks for being an artist so I thought I would share it with you along with my little, "Angel of Hope" illustration. This is for you!

My Proud To Be An Artist Prayer:

I am proud to call myself an artist. My heart needs to be expressed through my work, my soul feels fulfilled when I do, so I do it and when I do, I inspire myself to do more.

I love the sweet moments of creating my unique work. It brings peace, love, joy and harmony to my life, no matter what it looks like, no matter how much. It is me, materialized. It is me sharing my heart and sould with the world.

Thank you for letting me share my art with the world. This is why I am proud to call myself an artist.

SHARE KINDNESS

For the past week I have been seeing and hearing angry people while driving, (occasionally I am one of them) on my dogwalks, and while shopping, at the movies and pretty much everywhere. Not that this is anything new but I think the reason I have been noticing this behavior more lately is to remind myself how important it is to be kind to other people.

I do try everyday to be kind as much as possible. I am definately kind to my doggies and kitties that I care for every day and that feels great but to really show kindness to another human being feels better.

Part of my profile statement and a huge part of my life is that I believe that the world can always use more kindness. It is almost becoming a lost art which is so awful to me. People seem to be too caught up with cell phones and blackberries to worry about such a silly little thing, but to me we need it more than ever in today's world.

I truly hope that you will take the time out of your day today and show kindness to someone who needs it (and then maybe tomorrow?) I went out of my way to wave a person on to go ahead of me at a 4 way stop 3 times today even when I had the right of way and I smiled when I did it. One person waved to thank me and smiled back. It was a small gesture but if we all were just a little more courteous and kind everyday, wow, wouldnt that be great?!? And it feels pretty good too!

I am planning to keep spreadng random acts of kindness everyday and hope to get more creative ideas. How about you guys? Do you have any kindness stories or any suggestions for spreading kindess to someone you know or dont know? Would LOVE to hear!

Anyway, enjoy "The Butterfly Fairy" and I hope she will inspire you! You certainly inspire me with your kind words everyday, and for that I am SO grateful!

MOTHER'S DAY A MONTH EARLY :)

I just had the most wonderful morning with my mother. She came over early this morning to visit and we took a walk together thru Corona Del Mar where I live. Its a cute little beach town with cottages and lovely garden patios and is always such a treat to see little doggies and kitties greeting us along the way. I truly love living here, as much as I miss the east coast, I feel this is my home.

We took a walk to the beach and then went out for breakfast. We always have so much fun and laugh alot, when we are together, like there is magic in the air!

I had to post, "Enchanted Slumber" because it always make me think of her and how safe and secure and loved she makes me feel.

Would love to hear all of your "Mom" stories, too!
