LADY READING HER BIBLE SKETCH

Happy Saturday! This week has been super busy with petsitting so I happy for some down time today to do some inking and sketching. I love this picture of Mary and baby Jesus reading the bible together from the cover of my Magnificat, I dont know who the artist is but it looks like somewhere in between the 18th and 19th centuries? If anyone knows please let me know:)

Anyway, I was inspired by this beautiful painting to sketch this lady reading her little bible. I think she will make a pretty digital stamp:)

ANGEL OF THE ROSES SKETCH

I was sketching a little girl from memory over the weekend who sat in front of me at church and had the most precious little face, had a blonde pixie haircut and a "fairy" dress with roses on it and was so serious which made her even more adorable:) I thought "that is my next fairy for sure" with that cute little face, she reminded me of my Lily Fairy.

When I was drawing her I pictured her as a fairy but her wings didnt look right and they blossomed into angel wings so here she is. I want to call her the Angel of the Roses but I think she needs a pretty, girly name to go with it, do you guys have any suggestions?

PSALM 118 SKETCH

I finally bought myself a new bible and the first time that I opened it I asked God to choose a verse that I could illustrate and He led me to this one; Psalm 118:24, "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad." 


This is such a happy verse, isnt it? I pictured a little house with lots of flowers and love all around the  house:) I think this sketch would make a really cute digital stamp. I had so much fun with this one and plan to illustrate more verses from my new bible:)

"OUR LADY OF LOURDES" SKETCH

Happy Sunday everyone! My computer troubles are over thank goodness. My Mac completely died and I had no access to Photoshop except at Kinko's and I was getting super discouraged. But last week a friend of mine gave me her old PC and I was able to load Photoshop Elements on it and at least work on my digital stamp designs.

On Friday, I found a PC at the Salvation Army store for $50 and it had a ton of memory on the Hard Drive so I couldnt pass it up. I didnt know what programs were on it but something just told me to buy it and when I hooked it up it had Photoshop and Illustrator and In-Design! The complete design package was on it! 

Needless to say, I am grateful for being able to work in color again! I wanted to share this sketch of "Our Lady of Lordes" that I will be coloring in pink, blue and white. I have drawn at least 5 sketches of her in my sketchbook before I drew the perfect one and this is her! I hope you like her:)

These days, my newly restored faith has given me so many inspirations in my sketchbook and I will be sharing them as soon as I get them scanned:)

CHEERFUL GIVER STAMP "SNEEK PEEK"

This is my first post with the new blogger/Google Chrome, I like this version, how about you guys?

Photoshop is giving me trouble again so I'm posting a "sneek peek" of my new "Cheerful Giver" image. I still have to do alot of clean up so I hope to get that done over the weekend.

I think this one would be fun for Mother's day or a Mom's birthday:)

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE SKETCH

Happy Friday everyone! I have been walking dogs in the pouring rain all day and am finally dry and warm. We got lots of snow in the mountains and it is seasonally cool here in Southern California but I love it:)

Over the last couple of weeks I have been getting prayer cards and rosaries from friends with the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe which is such a beautiful image. My Mom went to Mexico about 5 years ago to the church with the original image of Our Lady displayed there and brought me back a plaque with her image on it so I have started a little collection:)

I've sketched 4 different OLofG images over the last week and finally finished one I liked and found a picture of one with the colors I really like. I was playing with my watercolors trying to get the perfect teal color for her cloak. I really think this image would make a great stamp, too. I am also working on a pretty freebie for Tuesday's freebie day that I think you guys will enjoy:) Have a wonderful weekend full of lots of creativity!
