VIRGIN MARY PAINTING/SKETCHES

I probably should have broken this up into two posts because I've never been able to figure out how to post more than one image at a time and make it look right. Boy do I ever miss my Design Team at a time like this, you girls spoiled me!!:)

I have been involved in a month long retreat this month with my church called, "33-Days to Morning Glory" and the sketch below was inspired by the book cover image called, "Immakulata" (copyrighted by Rektoratskirche St. Peter, Kunst und Kultur Referat) I created my own version of the Immaculata that I wanted to share with you (sketch/book cover below).

The retreat is wonderful and there are about 80 of us altogether and we are broken into smaller groups of 6. Our "small" group has the most wonderful people in it and I am grateful to be sharing this blessed event with all of these special people.

During the last week I was also inspired to paint my first ever Virgin Mary picture (above:)). Its created with watercolor, pen and ink, diamond stickles and gold ink pen. And an artist that has always inspired me is Flor Larios who creates the sweetest and most whimsical Madonna's, have you seen her work? I would really love to create more of these and frame them with little colored frames. It was so fun playing with my watercolors and using a bit of mixed-media, too!

Hugs,

Michelle
