PEACE, LOVE AND YOGA

I have taken up yoga over the last few weeks and have found myself feeling more spiritual than ever. I have been practing mediation (TM) for about 20 years and that has given a boost to my creativity and I've noticed even more lately with yoga. The music that our instructor plays is great too, love it! Last night it had a middle-eastern sound to it.

Last night's class gave me the feeling of such wonderful peace and love that stayed with me until this morning and carried over to my sketchbook activity.

I was drawing more goddesses and Indian princesses like the one below. I think I might have to come up with a yoga line of indian goddesses!

Until then, I hope you enjoy my "Harmony Goddess"

Have a wonderful and creative day, everyone! :)

PRINCESS LOTUS FLOWER

Along with my bunny friends I have been sketching some new goddesses as well. There has been lots of new developments inside of my sketchbook pages. Very exciting!

Whimsical, spiritual, and holiday designs are popping up everywhere! (as well as a few fairies fluttering around)

I am calling this goddess "Princess Lotus Flower"

Hope you enjoy her!

Michelle :)

HAPPY EASTER BUNNY!

Had some extra sketch time to play in my sketchbook yesterday so I refined my little Easter Bunny. I am planning to make cards, prints and bookmarks to sell at my booth for the art fair next month. I want to sell a card and bookmark wrapped up in a pink bow. (or something "Springy" and happy)
I have really been enjoying working on greeting card designs lately in my sketchbook. I think I may have to start a line of whimsical greeting cards. Lots of fun possiblilities!
What have you guys been working on in your sketchbooks? Any surprises? Any Springtime sketches blooming anywhere? Would love to hear ! :)
Have a wonderfully creative day everyone!

HAPPY BUNNIES FROM MY SKETCHBOOK

Happy Easter! I wanted to share some of my little friends with all of you. Bunnies really DO multiply, they are everywhere in my sketchbook these days!

I am hoping to get a quick Easter print done to post on Etsy and then want to sell them at my art show next month.

Hope you enjoy them!

Happy Inspiration to you all today!

OH, HAPPY SPRING!

I have so been enjoying my doggie walks over the last month. It is such a lovely time of year in Southern California. We have had lots of rain (yay :)) and the canyons are so green and lush with yellow, purple and white wildflowers. I gasp everytime I see them!
The jasmine is out and grows in such thick clumps I always walk by it and stick my nose into it and take a deep breath! MMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Wisteria is in bloom as well and love to see it growing on the trellaces I walk under. I imagine myself going into a secret garden on the other side!
I have had Spring on the brain and in my sketchbook lately. I have been drawing dancing bunnies with flowered wreaths around their heads and pink tutu's! I will try to scan them this week and post them.
Until then I hope you enjoy "Sister's of Spring". Have a wonderful day!
Michelle :)

BACK IN BLOGLAND!

Hello Dear Friends!
I cant believe it has been so long since I've posted. I have missed all of you and the wonderful inspiration I get from all of you here. I was lucky enough to recieve this lovely "XO your art blog award" from Kimmie at Once Upon a Blue Crow. Thank you, Kimmie!
Also, I got an email from an online magazine to be featured as an etsy seller so when I'm "published" I'll post the link!
Yesterday was the Second Saturday Art Fair (have a booth at this monthly show in San Juan Capistrano) and it was the best show yet. I sold lots of prints and cards and got 2 commissions as well.
I met the most interesting and lovely people. One of my petsitting clients came to visit with her little dog, Pepper and another doggie regular, Angel, the golden retriever stopped by to say hello with her little St. Patty's day bandana on!
I met Jackie from Arizona who packed up her car, her 2 dogs (one of them was a pregnant little scottie who was waddling around) and wanted to see the ocean and get away, made no plans and ended up in my booth talking with Jamie and I. She was on a "good for the soul" weekend. How cool is that?!?
Also met Sherri who just came from the stables in her riding outfit. She had her portfolio with her, she paints horses in a really colorful and whimsical style, loved her work alot. She will be selling at the next show. Very inspiring work!
Thank you to my Mom for helping me set up and of course to my best friend Jamie as always for being there all day with me, Thanks, James!
